L’associazione Amicizia Sardegna Palestina rende noto con grande dispiacere che i risultati delle selezioni per la partecipazione dei film/documentari alla XII edizione di Al Ard Doc Film Festival, nonché l’inizio del festival stesso saranno rinviati a data da definirsi in quanto lo staff è al momento impegnato a seguire la situazione critica che si è sviluppata nella Cisgiordania e a Gaza e in eventi di sensibilizzazione della popolazione riguardo la campagna BDS.
Per la prima volta dopo undici edizioni l’Associazione Amicizia Sardegna Palestina si trova costretta a rinviare il suo appuntamento annuale col cinema palestinese e arabo; ma l’ultimo attacco israeliano a Gaza ha riportato sotto i riflettori il problema dell’appoggio militare che il governo italiano garantisce all’esercito israeliano, non solo tramite la vendita di armi quanto anche fornendo basi logistiche e di addestramento. Per questa ragione pensiamo sia in questo momento più doveroso prestare attenzione a temi delicati come quello del boicottaggio sia economico che militare al governo israeliano.
Ci teniamo a precisare che non appena avremo visionato tutte le opere in concorso comunicheremo ai registi dei film data e luogo del Festival. Abbiamo inoltre deciso di tenere aperte le iscrizioni e di ricevere altri film oltre la data precedentemente stabilita.

Object: Extention of the deadline of the entries to Al Ard Doc Film Festival
Sardinia Palestine Friendship Association announces with great sorrow that the results of the selections for the participation of the films / documentaries at the XII edition of Al Ard Doc Film Festival, as well as the beginning of the festival itself will be postponed to a date to be determined because the staff is currently committed to following the critical situation that has developed in the West Bank and Gaza and in events to raise awareness of the population about the BDS campaign.
For the first time in eleven editions of the Palestine Friendship Association Sardinia is forced to postpone its annual meeting with Palestinian cinema and Arabic; but the latest Israeli attack on Gaza has brought into the spotlight the issue of support military that the Italian government guarantees the Israeli army, not only through the sale of arms as also providing logistical bases and training.
For this reason we think it is at this time more imperative to pay attention to sensitive issues such as that of both economic and military boycott on the Israeli government.
We would like to point out that as soon as we watch all the films in competition, we’ll notify the directors the date and the place of the Festival.
We have also decided to hold open enrollment and to receive other films beyond the date previously fixed.
